Serie A is coming to an end and the penultimate matchday kicked off with Sampdoria-Sassuolo. On paper, it's not a match to get excited about, but in practice, the match was a mess at the start of the matchday.
Both teams witnessed 3 goals in exactly 11 minutes. Dejan Stankovic's relegated side opened the scoring; Alessio Dionisi's side restored parity.
Manolo Gabbiadini made it 1-0 in the first half, only for Domenico Berardi and Matheus Henrique to pull one back in the ninth and 11th minutes respectively. All this before the stony silence of the fans, who are condemned to relegation to Serie B.
With the final results of matchday 37 still to come, Sassuolo are fighting to hold on to 12th place in Serie A. The 'Neroverdi' have yet to establish themselves in the upper echelons of the transalpine top flight.
