Salah hits new heights in Champions League despite league slump

Liverpool are once again in the Champions League last-16, after finishing second in their group, with 15 points and only one defeat on the first gameweek which, as it turns out, meant that they did not win the group.

It has been the hardest season for the Reds since Klopp's arrival. Salah has been the German manager's best tool to qualify in the Champions League.

BeSoccer Pro have analysed the Egyptian striker's numbers since he arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2017. And in this group stage, he has had the best of his career.

In the six games played, Salah has scored seven goals with one assist. Therefore, he has participated in eight of the 17 goals that the Reds scored in the group stages.

Never before up until now had Salah contributed towards so many goals. His best season, until this one, was last year, when he scored seven goals but he did not get any assists.

Salah has always played well in the Champions League with Liverpool. The year he had the the smallest impact was in 2018-19, scoring three goals.
