Neither the referee nor the linesman were correct and they significantly harmed Rosenborg in their latest match. The referee blew for a penalty against the team led by Age Hareide, but it was non-existent as the incident happened 2m outside the box.
The game in matchday 24 of the Norwegian League had just started. It was the 9th minute when in a move on Viking Stavanger's left, a Rosenborg defender handled the ball. The referee saw that it happened in the box and pointed to the spot for the hosts.
After that unfortunate and unfair decision, the home side opened the scoring, which was the first of the three goals they scored in the first half to seal a 3-0 win.
