Rony Lopes' mum passes away: "You were so happy to see me play again..."

On 29th July, Nice confirmed the signing of Rony Lopes. The most expensive player in the history of Sevilla left the club to embark on a new adventure, again, in France.

Just four days later, football has received the tragic and hard news of the death of his mother. He dedicated some words to her on his personal Instagram account.

"No words. You were so happy to see me play again, do what I love best. You were so proud of the people that me, Daniela, Gabriel and dad have made of ourselves. It is very difficult to understand why, but the sky has won a star and you will always be looking out for us. We will continue to do what you have taught us, which is to be strong and fight for our dreams. I'll make you very proud, Mum. My love for you is eternal, I love you".

"Sevilla Fútbol Club expresses its condolences to Rony Lopes on the passing of his mother, and sends all its strength and support to his family and friends in this difficult moment. R.I.P", the Andalusian club wrote on their social media.
