At 20:00 CET on Monday evening, the FIFA gala at the London Palladium will get underway, with presenters Idris Elba and Layla Anna being handed the reins. After months of speculation, the footballing fratenity will finally discover who will win this year's 'The Best' award.
All eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar as the winner is announced, with all three of them hoping to secure their status as the King of football.
The Portuguese is favourite for the award after playing a key role in helping Real Madrid to the double last season. Another fine season from the 32-year-old helped 'Los Blancos' to a La Liga and Champions League double, with Ronaldo coming to the fore in the latter competition with 10 goals in five games between the quarter-finals and final including two against Juventus in Cardiff as Real lifted their 12th European Cup.
Since that day in Wales, Ronaldo has been considered the favourite for both this gong and the Ballon d'Or, however, Lionel Messi's stats are actually more impressive than Ronaldo's.
The Argentine boasts 12 more goals (54) and seven more assists (19) than Ronaldo over the period in question.
The Barca star enjoyed a fine individual campaign, but the Catalans as a whole failed to click and only managed silverware in the form of the Copa del Rey.
Neymar is also in the running for the award but it would be a significant shock to see him win. His mega-money move to PSG put him in the spotlight once again but despite a season that saw him score 20 and provide 27 assists, his stats pale in comparison to his rivals and he was unable to achieve anything of real note with Barca.
Ronaldo is thus favourite to retain his title, having previously won last year with 34.54% of the vote to Messi's 26.4% and Antouine Griezmann's 7.53%.
