Ronaldo exploited Nacho lunge to earn Portugal a penalty

It is billed to be one of the most exciting matches of the opening round of group fixtures and it certainly lived up to its reputation in the opening few minutes.

Darting toward the box, Ronaldo spotted Nacho's outstetched leg and made sure his leg made contact, going down to leave the referee no choice put to point to the spot.

Some will argue it was a dive but it was rather excellent play by the Real Madrid forward to take advantage of potential contact, especially as there was no need for Nacho to make the lunge.

After a stand-off with David De Gea, Ronaldo was ready to take the spot-kick and he made no mistake sending the goalkeepr the wrong way to give Portugal the lead in the fourth minute.
