Barca have given in and Roma have gotten away with it. Carles Pérez will move to Roma in the winter market, and he will do so without Barca having a preferential buy-back option on him.
Negotiations surrounding the deal have entered the final phase, and everything seems to indicate that the signing will be made official imminently. The winger has seen his progression at Barcelona cut short due to the breakthrough of Ansu Fati, and in anticipation of being the sub to a sub, he has decided to leave the club, above all after Setién told him he is not in his plans.
His destination will be Roma, although as we have seen the negotiations haven't been easy at all. Barcelona resisted until the last minute in order not to cut the last thread that could have seen them reunited with their ex-player in the future, but they ended up giving it up.
Roma will manage to sign Carles Pérez without having to include a Barcelona buy-back option in his contract, according to the newspapers 'AS' and 'Marca'.
The player didn't train with the group on Tuesday, nor did Moussa Wagué, another Barca player who will be sold before the window slams shut.
