The transfer window closed in Italy on 1st September, but Roma have not yet closed the transfer window. This is possible thanks to the fact that, even with the summer window already closed, free agents can still be signed.
That is the case of two defenders who are of interest to Jose Mourinho. According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', the Italian side are reportedly targeting Jason Denayer and Dan-Axel Zagadou.
The former, a Belgium international centre-back, is free after ending his contract with Olympique Lyon. The 27-year-old made 21 appearances for the French side last season. Zagadou, 23, has yet to find a place after leaving Borussia Dortmund, where he made 19 official appearances last season.
However, Roma are keen to lighten their squad before making any new signings. To do so, the capital club want to resolve the situations of William Bianda and Ante Coric, who do not count for Mou and could still find a team in the leagues where the transfer market is still open. In Europe, Belgium, Portugal, Turkey and Russia, among others, are still open for signings.
