Rodrigo is in excellent form. He scored a goal against Ryan Mason's Tottenham in the last game after coming on in the 79th minute. Against Burnley, he once again scored off the bench and he got two this time. He got a brace shortly after coming on and the match ended 0-4 for Leeds.
In the 58th minute, Marcelo Bielsa brought him onto the pitch. After a bit of time to get going, he breached the Burnley defence twice in the space of two minutes. In the 77th minute, he beat the opposing goalie with a lovely chip. Then, in the 79th min, he got past him thanks to a lovely control which allowed him to score basically with an open goal.
The Spaniard had not scored a brace since 5th March when he scored twice against Wolves. He had been on a goalscoring drought since then, but now it looks like he has been able to put that too one side. That is important if he wants to be a key player for Leeds in the 2021-22 season.
He could be like the old Rodrigo at Valencia. In the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns, he became one of the best strikers in Spain and even caught the attention of Atletico Madrid. In the end, he went to Leeds where he is adapting better to better to life in the Premier League.
