After 15 seasons as an FC Barcelona first-team player, Sergio Busquets, who said goodbye to the entire Camp Nou Spotify on Sunday, will bring his time as a 'Cule' to an end on 4th June against Celta Vigo.
The midfielder, after playing his last game at the Barca stadium, spoke to 'Catalunya Radio', where he assured that he will play outside of Europe, and also to 'Mundo Deportivo', where he spoke about his possible replacements, his conversation with Xavi...
"I know that there is talk of many players. Rodri, Zubimendi.... They are very good players and perhaps the ones who are most in line with Barca's DNA and style, but they are in another team, they belong to another club", the Spanish footballer began.
In this vein, the Catalan also brought Nico right into the question about a possible arrival of Kimmich: "It's a bit different, it's German football. In the end you don't just have to look for the same DNA, you have to look for players with other profiles that can be important for certain games. But we also have home-grown players, we have Nico, who is on loan, who I think is doing very well, although it's true that he has lacked a bit of playing time".
"He has a lot of talent, he has a lot of conditions and we have to give the opportunity to home-grown people, to young people. And financially you know that you are not going to spend money on a transfer, which I don't know if we are capable of doing today. And then Nico understands the club and the style of play. We have players who are giving us a lot and who we didn't expect," he added.
"I like all three of them a lot, and I've played with two of them in the national team. Less so with Zubimendi, I've seen him in the U21s. We've also played against each other in La Liga and in the Copa. I think those three are the closest to Barca's DNA, the ones who could contribute the most. Then if you want to sign others with a much more physical profile, or a bit more defensive, you can also do that. And there are players in the squad who can adapt", he commented.
