'RMC Sports': VAR was not working for the Suarez penalty

It was Lionel Messi who opened the scoring in Barcelona's Champions League last-16 second-leg clash against Lyon in the 18th minute. He also stepped up to take the penalty for Barcelona after Denayer brought Luis Suarez down in the box.
But the penalty was somewhat controversial. Although there was contact between Jason Denayer and Luis Suarez, it did not seem clear that it was the French side's defender who took down the Uruguayan, because some angles showed that the Barca man may have stomped on the Belgian's foot.
The referee signalled for a penalty, despite the Lyon players defiantly protesting, and VAR backed him up so Messi stepped up to chip it home from the spot.
Although it seems, according to 'RMC Sport', UEFA has admitted that the VAR system was not working properly at the time when the supposed foul was committed.
