Reina, who has played at Napoli, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool, moved closer to a move to Milan on Monday, as he underwent medical tests ahead of a summer move to the 'Rossoneri'.
The Spanish keeper, who is now 35 years old, has played in 37 games for Napoli this season, keeping 18 clean sheets. He is a free agent at the end of the season, and Milan are looking to tie him down in advance of the summer window.
Although it will please AC fans to see their club locking down the veteran keeper's services, they will be less happy about the implications for the future of their 19-year-old wonderkid Gigio Donnarumma. The young keeper has been linked with a big summer move away from his boyhood club, with clubs such as PSG, Real Madrid and Juventus all rumoured to be interested in the 'new Buffon'.
Given the gametime Reina is getting at Napoli, and the form the side are in, it seems odd that he would move without the guarantee of playing time, so this may spell the beginning of the end of Donnarumma's time in Milan. A bittersweet day for AC Milan fans, then.
