Real Madrid: Dani Carvajal will not feature after picking up a suspension against APOEL, with UEFA currently debating slapping the right-back with an extended ban for deliberately getting himself booked. Gareth Bale will also miss the game, though Real boss Zinedine Zidane is hopeful that the Welshman will be able to return to action at the weekend.
Borussia Dortmund: The Germans will be without winger Maximilian Philipp for the game after he suffered an injury to his kneecap in the draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Philipp is likely to be joined on the sidelines by Erik Durm (hip), Sebastian Rode (thigh), Alexander Isak (knee), Mario Gotze (ankle), Lukasz Piszczek (muscle) and Gonzalo Castro (face), whilst Jeremy Toljan is suspended. Marco Reus remains a long-term absentee with a cruciate knee ligament problem.

Dortmund are without a win in their last seven Champions League games (D2, L5). If the fail to beat Real it will be their longest ever run without a win in the competition.
