Real Madrid continues to look for young talent to shape their generational relay and have set their sights on one of the great central European projects: Mohammed Salisu.
As 'AS' published, Madrid have taken an interest in the 20-year-old Real Valladolid footballer, but they are not alone. Valencia, Atlético, Getafe or Manchester United have already asked for him.
The defender has become the most sought-after footballer in Sergio Gonzalez' s team, for whom he's become a permanent feature. So much so that the young Ghanaian player has gone from academy graduate to frequent starter in a matter of months.
"In two years I've gone from the youth team to playing three games in the first division, everything is going very fast, last year I was part of the first team, but I was playing with the second team and this year everything is going fast," confessed Salisu himself at the end of 2019.
Salisu arrived in 2017 to the youth team of Real Valladolid and in three months he was promoted. In the following campaign, 2018-19, he would play 26 matches and even made his debut in Copa del Rey with the first team.
Finally his great opportunity arrived: between Javi Sánchez's leave and Barba's sanction, the Ghanaian appeared on the first day as a starter and since then he has not let go of the position.
Left-footed, 1.91m and 82kg, Mohammed Salisu is a forceful, agile defender with a privileged physique. He has already scored in 24 matches this season and is on Real Madrid's radar in his own right.
