Claudio Ranieri is keen to bolster the attacking ranks at faltering Fulham in January, and has targeted former player Islam Slimani as the right man for the job,.
The Italian manager was responsible for bringing the Algerian forward to the Premier League in 2016, during his time at Leicester City.
However since the departure of the manager, Slimani has since endured a series of unsuccessful loan spells, and currently represents Turkish side Fernerbahce.
Ranieri hopes that he can convince the player to come back to England, and help him to save a relegation-threatened Fulham side from an immediate return to the second tier come may.
Slimani is contracted to Leicester City until 2021, but the move has not been beneficial for either party, and so the club could be set to cut their losses and free up funds for other use.
Regardless of the players poor form in his top flight career so far, Ranieri is convinced that he can draw out the potential that Slimani demonstrated for Sporting Lisbon at the beginning of his professional career.
