PSG's Mukiele undergoes surgery and will miss the rest of the season

PSG confirmed the worst predictions for Nordi Mukiele. The player's relapse forced him to undergo surgery, which means the end of his current season with the French club.

The Welsh centre-back posted a statement on social media: "As you know, I have been sidelined for a few weeks, having cut short my recovery in order to return sooner, to be available for the club and the important matches that awaited us".

Nordi Mukiele regretted his relapse and the decision to have hamstring surgery: "Unfortunately, this resulted in another injury. I worked hard to come back again, but, unfortunately, with my persistent injury I made the difficult but necessary decision to have surgery.

The player obviously prioritised health over football: "Obviously, I'm disappointed to have to miss the rest of the season, but my health and my long-term recovery are my top priority. I will work hard to come back stronger next season.

Nordi Mukiele concluded the letter by thanking for the support he received: "I want to thank you for your messages of support over the last few weeks. It means a lot to me and I know you will continue to be there for the team in the coming weeks, because there is still a goal to reach.
