A source close to the Parisians told 'ESPN FC' that the club are seriously interested in bringing the midfielder back to his homeland this summer, with his relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at an all-time low.
The French champions considered a move for the playmaker before he returned to Manchester United from Juventus in 2016, but could now be set for another move after falling down the Old Trafford pecking order in spectacular fashion.
The aforementioned source claims that several clubs have expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, with PSG just one of them.
However, there remain concerns about PSG's ability to finance a deal of such magnitude, with their stance regarding Financial Fair Play likely to become clearer after they meet with UEFA on Friday.
Pogba was born in Lagny-Sur-Marne, a suburb of the French capital, and given his struggles, a return to his homeland would be an attractive prospect to the former Juventus man.
The French international has scored five goals and laid on 11 assists in 31 games in all competitions so far this season, but has come in for criticism for his lack of defensive discipline, leading Mourinho to prefer the likes of Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Ander Herrera in the middle of the park.
