The January transfer window is rather peculiar. It has always been said that if it is difficult to find a bargain in summer, in January it is even more difficult to get something good and cheap. It is usually a much calmer window. However, there could be a big move in Italy.
According to 'Corriere della Sera', Inter and Atalanta could shock the market with a major swap deal. Eriksen would go to Bergamo while Papu Gomez would move to the city of Milan.
The Dane has never ended up settling down at the Giuseppe Meazza. He arrived from Tottenham as a big signing, but he has never been a key player under Conte. In fact, Marotta had said he was in the market although the coach himself caught everyone off guard by saying that he could stay.
Papu is the other person involved in the deal. Alejandro Gomez is an Atalanta idol, but his off the field issues will make him leave the club. His relationship with Gasperini is non-existent and he could pack his bags for Milan.
Eriksen has played 483 minutes this season in 14 appearances for Inter. He has only started six of them and has yet to score or assist. Gomez has played 1125 minutes for Atalanta. He has played 16 times, started 15 of them and scored five goals. He also has four assists to his name.
