Possible lineups for Barcelona v Monaco

Montjuic is once again decked out for a Barcelona home game. It will be on Monday evening, when Hansi Flick's side host Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy. The sensations are positive after the training camp in the United States for the Soccer Champions Tour, but Hansi Flick has to get the players who were on holiday after the European Championship or the Copa America up to speed.

One of them is Dani Olmo, the star signing of the summer at Barcelona if Nico Williams is not also included. At the same time, some youth players have taken advantage of the friendlies to knock on the door of the German coach, who seems determined to use a 4-2-3-1 instead of the 4-3-3 to which the Catalan team has been accustomed to for the majority of this century.

The Principality side may appear as underdogs to those who lost sight of them last season. They finished second in Ligue 1 only behind Paris Saint-Germain, who, of course, won another domestic title with a nine-point lead. The red-and-whites will thus take part in the new Champions League, where the post-Xavi era will be hoping to keep their hopes high.
