Ronald Koeman's Barcelona and Abelardo's Alaves face off this Saturday in a much awaited matchday 23 La Liga contest in the Catalan capital.
It could potentially be a tricky game for Barcelona. Despite arriving in good form in the league, they come into the match on the back of the defeat to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey semi-final and they host PSG on Tuesday in the Champions League.
Koeman is planning to make some changes, but he cannot make so many because the large amount of injuries he has. Several of the players who started at Sevilla will start again.
Mingueza will play at full-back so that Dest can be rested for the Champions League while Umtiti and Lenglet could be in the centre of defence. Junior Firpo is expected to be at left-back so Jordi Alba can be fresh for Tuesday.
There are more questions in midfield. De Jong, who has played lots, will seemingly play again potentially alongside Pedri and Riqui Puig. Trincao will start up top in place of Dembele.
For Alaves, Abelardo will be without Ximo Navarro and Rodrigo Ely at the Camp Nou. They are two important men missing in defence and the coach will have to turn to others.
Martin, Tachi, Lejeune and Duarte look most likely to start. Pina and Battaglia are likely to play ahead of them. Luis Rioja, who scored in the meeting earlier in the season, and Edgar Mendez are possible starters in midfield while Lucas Perez and Joselu will play up front. These two caused Barca a lot of problems in the 1-1 draw at Mendizorroza back in October.
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Mingueza, Umtiti, Lenglet, Junior Firpo; De Jong, Pedri, Riqui Puig; Trincao, Griezmann and Messi.
Alaves: Pacheco; Martín, Tachi, Lejeune, Duarte; Édgar Méndez, Pina, Battaglia, Rioja; Lucas Pérez and Joselu.
