Accrington Stanley held high-flyers Portsmouth to a 1-1 draw at Wham Stadium, to ensure that the top of the table is tight once more, as second placed Peterborough held off Burton Albion to move within two points of the league leaders.
Elsewhere, Sunderland kept the heat on the top two, as they trounced Southend 3-0 at the Stadium of Light. Goals from George Honeyman, Chris Maguire and Aiden McGeady helped the 'Black Cats' to record their fourth league win in succession.
Coventry also continued their impressive run of form, as they won their fifth consecutive game with a 2-1 defeat of faltering Doncaster, who they would leapfrog in the table after overcoming a one point deficit from their opponents at the start of play.
In contrast, AFC Wimbledon's slump continues, as they lost their sixth game in succession, with a 2-0 loss at home to Luton, who climbed to fifth in the process.
Other notable results include Oxford 3-0 win over Shrewsbury, Rochdale beating Charlton by a narrow 1-0 scoreline, and Fleetwood earning local bragging rights by edging out Blackpool 3-2 at Highbury Stadium.
The League One table has closed up once more, with only 2 points separating the top three side and four points between Bradford City in 24th and Bristol Rovers in 20th.
If one thing is for certain, the race for promotion and the battle against relegation is sure to go the distance in League one this season.
