The Algerian international was due to become the eighth signing to join the 'Irons' in this transfer window after a fee was agreed with his side Porto.
While it seemed as though the transfer was a formality, but 'Sky Sports' report that talks broke down when the player and the club could not agree on the terms of the player's contract.
Even though it does not seem that Brahimi will be going to the Premier League, it is likley that his team-mate Moussa Marega could be making a switch to the London Stadium.
The Malian forward played impressively for his side during the last campaign, scoring 22 times in 29 apperances in the league as he fired his team to the Portuguese league title.
It seems as though the player is very keen on a move to east London, but the two clubs are yet to come to a consensus on his value.
