Lukas Podolski, former Germany player and 2014 World Cup winner, was interviewed by 'AS' and warned Luis Enrique's team of the danger of the Germans after the defeat against Japan.
"I couldn't watch the Costa Rica game, but the result alone gives you a clue about their quality. You can't play in the World Cup and concede seven goals. But Germany is not Costa Rica," he said during the interview.
He knows that the German national team will be playing for everything against Spain, and commented that this match will be different to the ones he played in 2008 and 2010: "Those games are always tight, but this match will be different. I don't think they'll be parking the bus, it will be an open game and Luis Enrique's team will be out to win it.
He added that the 6-0 thrashing by Jochim Low's side just over two years ago was "forgotten". All or nothing, the result of the match could see Hansi Flick's side miss out on a place in the last 16, while a Spanish win would mean a mathematical qualification to the next round.
