Kölner Haie aren't going through very good moments financially. Although they are one of the historic sides in ice hockey, the pandemic has provoked a crisis that has left the club without more than 15,000 people in the stadium each match.
They need income and for that, they have turned to the great Podolski. The German, who follows the team, has decided to participate in the campaign they have launched on the streets, so much so that he has even made a bet.
The striker has said that if they surpass the purchase of 100,000 tickets at 10 euros, he will play ice hockey for the team. Knowing this, the fans haven't taken long in replying.
With the tickets on sale, more than 130,000 have already been bought, so Podolski will have to keep his word and put his skates on.
"I'm very happy that Haie got the 100,000 tickets. I have only words of thanks for all of you who made it. When things have calmed down, we will sit down in the stadium and decide how everything will proceed. Be that as it may, I am looking forward to becoming a Haie player", Podolski said.
