Phillips renews at WBA until 2022

The Scottish winger arrived from QPR. Since then, he has become one of the leaders of the side. In his first campaign as a Baggie, he scored five times and gave nine assists in 29 games. 

That has made him become important in the tema and he is often a starter. In the next two seasons, he netted eight times and gave nine assists in 67 matches. In fact, he is the one of the club's most used players this season. 

Therefore, the club wanted to renew him so that he continues forming part of their plans in the near future. In addition, if another club want to sign him, WBA have said they will have a lot to say at the negotiating table. 

Phillips had one year left on his contract, but the club have renewed him well in advance to prevent him leaing for free at the end of next season. "We didn't have to convince him and it is always good to keep those key players at the club," an official statement read.
