Pellegrini confirms Bartra's move to Trabzonspor

Marc Bartra's journey at Real Betis is about to come to an end. The Catalan centre-back landed in the Andalusian capital more than four years ago to become a much-loved player for the institution.

The first intention of the former Barça defender and the club was to extend his contract, which was due to expire in 2023. However, the complicated economic situation that the club are going through meant that they were unable to reach an agreement with the defender to extend his contract. Finally, the Spanish player will sign for Trabzonspor, reigning champions of the Turkish League.

The transfer has not yet been made official, but Manuel Pellegrini, his coach, confirmed in the press conference prior to the Betis-Elche game that the Betis '5' will leave the Andalusian club imminently.

The deal will be closed for around five million euros plus a bonus for objectives and Bartra will sign a contract for the next two seasons plus an optional one. The 'Cule' youth player will receive two and a half million net per season at the Ottoman club.
