Following a 2-0 win over Uruguay, France are on their way to the semi-finals in Saint Petersburg.
After such a strong performance against Uruguay, it seems suprising that Paul Pogba had raised the possibility of not being part of another World Cup.
Pogba was extremely effective, controlling the game, and showing his class for the second time this week.
His partnership with N'Golo Kant kept France going when Uruguay were frustrating them in the first half.
When Luis Suarez threatened a comeback, they intervened in order to seal the game for 'Les Bleus'.
Only a few days into the World Cup, Pogba was already thinking about whether this may be his last international tournament.
After the victory over Peru, Pogba reportedly said: "Maybe it's my last World Cup. We do not know."
Pogba is only 25-years-old, and won the outstanding young player award at the last World Cup.
His comments were given extremely short shrift by Didier Deschamps, who believes that Pogba could have one or two more World Cups in him.
Speaking to the 'Daily Mail' captain Hugo Lloris argued that Pogba was entering the next stage of his career:
"He's maturing, he's growing, he's been accumulating experience," the goalkeeper said. "He's starting to grow in the locker room as well, he's a true leader, he's very ambitious."
