Pau Cubarsi needed 10 stitches after catching a boot to the head

Barcelona left Belgrade with a victory under their belt. The 'Cules' gave Red Star no chance, beating them 2-5, in a match in which Pau Cubarsi worried the whole Barcelona fans with several injuries to his face.

In the 61st minute, the defender disputed a ball and Spajic, who extended his boot looking for the ball, hit the ‘Cules’ centre-back's face with his boot. Not with excessive force, but with enough to cause a severe cut.

His teammates quickly asked to be substituted and Cubarsi left the pitch under his own steam, with a towel covering the affected area. Once in the dressing room, Dr. Pruna put 10 stitches to close the wound.

Gavi posted a video on his Instagram stories showing how bruised the defender's face was: ‘My warrior,’ said the midfielder. Meanwhile, Barca posted two very shocking images of a boy who gave his all for his team: ‘Everything for the Club’.
