FT: Paderborn 1-6 Dortmund. Dortmund reduce the gap to Bayern Munich to seven points again but the main talking point will once again be Jadon Sancho after his Bundesliga hat-trick on his return to the starting XI. Thorgan Hazard, Achraf Hakimi and veteran Marcel Schmelzer were also on the scoresheet.

    Hat-trick for Sancho!

Schmelzer's first goal in over two years in his 12th year at the club comes after he had set up Hakimi for his goal. The ball is worked wide to Witsel and the German meets his vicious ball and converts past Zingerle.

  • 85'
A fifth Bundesliga goal of the season for the wing-back, who finishes off another fine move. Sancho and Hazard interchange passes and the latter should really get a shot away but miscontrols. The scraps are picked up by substitute Schmelzer who plays it into Hakimi, who expertly slots the ball into the bottom corner. The Real Madrid loanee is then replaced, but that is very much job done for the visitors.

Well that possible comeback may have just been stopped in its tracks. Guerreiro breaks down the left-hand side and plays it back to Sancho, who sets himself before unleashing a left-foot shot. Zingerle gets fingertips to it but cannot prevent Sancho from scoring his 15th goal in 23 games.

That looks very, very harsh on Emre Can. The former Liverpool midfielder has his hands tucked in as a strike from close range hits his arm. The referee is in no doubt though and points to the spot, and Hunemeier makes no mistake and dispatches the penalty with aplomb.
  • 68'
Change for the visitors, with Belgian Axel Witsel on for Thomas Delaney.
  • 65'
A double change for Paderborn: Ben Zolinski and Sven Michel replace Srbeny and Mamba.

ANOTHER ONE! Brandt is cleverly played in down the left-hand side, and he puts it on a plate for Sancho, who not only scores his 18th of the season but also reveals his own Justice for George message after taking his shirt off. He follows the likes of Marcus Thuram and Weston McKennie in expressing solidarity, but unlike the others he is booked for his celebrations.

    GOAAAALLLLL HAZARD!
  • 50'
Now two chances for Dortmund! Again the chance comes from the wing-backs, and Can's dummy allows Guerreiro's cross to find Hakimi. But Zingerle is more than equal to the task and brilliantly diverts his shot behind, before Hummels heads over the resulting corner.
  • 49'
More sloppiness again from Dortmund at the start of this half, with Guerreiro unable to keep the ball in play from Akanji's pass.
  • 45'
HT: Paderborn 0-0 Dortmund. A job well done by the bottom club Paderborn, whose diligent defending has restricted Dortmund to unclear chances. See you in 10 minutes for the second half.
  • 45'
Good chance for Brandt! Hakimi surges into space down the right and slides the ball towards Sancho on the edge of the area. He lets it run beautifully to Brandt, who whacks it miles over the bar. Decent chance, that.
  • 42'
Ghanaian Antwi-Adjei again causing Dortmund some problems. Hummels plays a sloppy pass which is easily cut out, and the ball is eventually laid into the Ghanaian who takes a touch before lashing just over the bar from a tight angle. Promising from the bottom side.
  • 38'
That's the Hakimi we have been accustomed to this season, marauding down the right-hand side. But the Real Madrid loanee does not notch up another assist, with no one there to tap in his inviting ball.
  • 36'
The stretching Strohdiek shanks a clearance behind for another Dortmund. Hazard swings it deep towards Can, who heads wide under pressure.
  • 32'
Paderborn have so far not been tempted out by Borussia Dortmund and have kept their shape against a patient Dortmund.
  • 27'
First stage of some sort of pressure from Dortmund but Paderborn are once again holding firm, but so far both sides lacking incisiveness in the final third.

First stage of some sort of pressure from Dortmund but Paderborn are once again holding firm, but so far both sides lacking incisiveness in the final third.
  • 18'
First chance for the visitors and it is not a trademark Dortmund move. Piszczek plays a delightful lofted straight ball over the Paderborn defence for Thorgan Hazard to run on to, and the Belgian tests the goalkeeper at the near post with a decent drive.
  • 12'
Chance for the hosts! Jadon Sancho loses the ball just outside the Paderborn box and the hosts break in numbers through Holtmann. The move ends with Antwi-Adjei having a go at goal unmarked, but he drags the effort well wide.
  • 10'
The hosts only have a budget of 11 million euros, but despite looking destined for relegation Paderborn have been feisty so far. Still, a tepid start for both teams here.
  • 4'
First panicky moment for Paderborn there. Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can goes on a driving run and delivers a ball which the defender puts behind awkwardly for a corner.
  • 3'
Bright start from the hosts here, who have pressed the Dortmund defence into a couple of missplaced passes early on.
  • 1'
    We're off!

Jadon Sancho starts for Dortmund for the first time since spring break. It looks like Thorgan Hazard will play as a duplicitious nine in the absence of Erling Haaland.
  • PRVW
As we know, Erling Haaland picked up a knock in Dortmund's loss to Bayern earlier this week, so he will not be playing.
