OTD five years ago, Marcus Rashford became Man Utd's No.10

It has been five years since Marcus Rashford went from being that rising star at Old Trafford wearing the No.19 on his back to being Manchester United's No.10, something that showed the club's blind faith in him.

The England winger made his debut for the Red Devils on 25th February 2016 against Midtjylland in a Europa League match. The young Englishman then quickly attracted worldwide attention by scoring a brace, which was followed by another one against Arsenal in the Premier League.

The left-footed winger also scored on his first appearance for England, becoming the youngest player to score on his debut for the Three Lions. Despite his age, Rashford was already showing he was built different.

The England international was gaining an increasingly important role in the Mancunian squad on his own merits, so much so that in the summer of 2018 the club decided to give him the No.10, a number that has been worn by club legends such as Wayne Rooney, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, David Beckham and even George Best.

The 2022/23 campaign was the most prolific of the left-footed winger's career to date, as the England international hit 30 goals across all competitions for Ten Hag's side. However, Marcus can't seem to get enough and will try to score 40 this season and also become Manchester United's all-time top scorer.
