Jose Peseiro announced on the social media of the Nigerian national team the squad chosen to face the two friendlies they have against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique. In the list appeared three players who in the end will not be able to join the call-up given by the Portuguese coach.
Among the players called up were Cardiff City defender Jamilu Collins who plays in the EFL Championship, defender Olaoluwa Aina player and striker Taiwo Awoniyi, both of Premier League side Nottingham Forest, who finally will not be able to join the team due to injury.

Furthermore, despite the two absentees in defence, Peseiro will still be able to count on Bassey, Ajayi, Onyemaechi, Osayi Samuel and Torunarigha. Meanwhile, the Nigerian attack continues to be scary despite the loss of Awoniyi as they have Iheanacho, Chukwueze, Simon, Lookman, Osimhen, Boniface and Moffi.
