Osimhen arrives in Turkey to sign for Galatasaray

One of the names on the market, especially in the last days of the transfer window, was Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian had been rumoured all summer as a possible sale from Napoli, but in the end, he did not close his move to Saudi football and the offer he was hoping for from the Premier League did not arrive either.

The team that owned his rights were thus faced with a major problem, as Antonio Conte did not count on the Super Eagles international and the range of clubs Osimhen could join was closed. After the market closed in the major leagues, Galatasaray seized their moment and turned Napoli's urgency to release the forward into an opportunity.

In just a few hours, the two clubs agreed to avoid the Nigerian spending a season out of action. Late on Monday, Galatasaray closed the deal for Osimhen, who had already travelled to Istanbul and indulged in a surrealist dance for his new fans as they welcomed him to the Turkish city.

It was the end of the suffering for a striker who will now have a €75 million buyout clause at Napoli, with an option to extend the contract until 2027. The loan will run until June 2025 and there will be no obligation to buy. It is rumoured that his new club will pay between nine and ten million euros of his salary.
