Free agents will be the star of the upcoming summer transfer window. There are many players who can currently negotiate freely with other teams, as their contracts expire in June 2023. This is an opportunity that Barcelona want to take advantage of.
The Catalan giants are still facing a major financial crisis and want to take advantage of these market opportunities. One of those at the top of the 'Cules' shortlist is Youssoufa Moukoko, a young Borussia Dortmund striker who at 18 years of age has already played in the World Cup in Qatar with Germany.
The striker has played 14 games so far and has already scored six goals and provided four assists. In fact, until matchday eight he was a regular substitute, but since matchday nine he has been a regular in Edin Terzic's eleven.
Many European clubs also reportedly had their eye on him, including Chelsea. However, the London club's interest came to nothing, as 'Sport' reported that the Stamford Bridge side had withdrawn from the bidding process by closing the deal for Nkunku and trying to sign Marcus Thuram.
Moukoko does not rule out renewing his contract with his current club, but with certain conditions, such as a buyout clause of 50 million euros, which, in the case of certain clubs such as Barca, would be a drop in the bucket.
