Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana will leave the Qatar World Cup after failing to reach an agreement with his national team. They removed him from the squad after disagreeing with the coach's tactical methods.
The decision was taken on Tuesday morning, 'EFE' confirmed after the Cameroon FA "temporarily" suspended him for disciplinary reasons.
The goalkeeper, after the first group game, received instructions from coach Rigobert Song to kick the ball long a bit more and not so many short passes. Onana did not accept this order as he did not want to change his style of play.
As a result of this, he was separated from the rest of the group. However, there was hope the matter could be resolved thanks to mediation from the likes of Samuel Eto'o.
Nevertheless, Onana decided to leave the camp and Qatar on Tuesday. His team will face Brazil on Friday as they look to qualify for the last 16.
