OFFICIAL: United's Pereira joins Vitoria Setubal on loan

Manchester United have confirmed that goalkeeper Joel Pereira has joined Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal on a season-long loan.

Pereira is believed to be higly-rated at Old Trafford and previously spent the 2016/17 season out on loan with Belenenses.

The 22-year-old spent last season as United's third-choice goalkeeper, however, with Lee Grant joining Sergio Romero and David De Gea in the United ranks this summer it has been decided that Pereira's development would be best served by another loan spell.

The Swiss-born stopper made one appearance for United last season as he came on as a substitute in their EFL Cup clash with Burton Albion.

A Portugal U21 international, Pereira is under contract with United until the summer of 2021.
