Liverpool are set to have a busy summer ahead of them. Jurgen Klopp's side, despite having a faultless season finale, have not enjoyed the whole season as they would have like to, and will see their squad reformed ahead of next term.
In preparation for a busy window, the Reds have announced that four key players will be leaving at the end of the 2022-23 season. Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the ones to be let go.
All four have reached the end of their contracts, meaning the club were under no obligation to keep them on. We already knew Roberto Firmino was set to go, after he confirmed that a few weeks back, and it was a similar story with James Milner, who is strongly pipped to go to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The players were also pivotal in the club's golden spell of the last few seasons, winning the side the Premier League 2019-20, FA Cup 2021-22, Champions League 2018-19, European Super Cup 2019-20, as well as the Club World Cup in 2020 and Community Shield in 2023.
The club also confirmed that there will be "special acknowledgements" for the quartet at Anfield. "All four players will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution they have made".
