OFFICIAL: Nico Gonzalez signs for Porto

Nico Gonzalez, who played for Valencia last season, has joined Porto for 8.5 million euros from Barcelona, the Portuguese club announced on Saturday.

"FC Porto agreed with Barcelona the payment of 8.5 million euros for the entire transfer, and the Spanish emblem will also be entitled to receive 40% of the added value obtained in a future transfer," Porto wrote on their website.

The 21-year-old has played in the Catalan side's academy since 2018 and has played 37 appearances for the first team, scoring two goals and assisting twice in the 2021/22 season.

The midfielder has signed a five-season contract, meaning he will play in the Portuguese league until 2028. The Spaniard is looking forward to his new adventure in Portugal.
