OFFICIAL: Maxi Gomez to have operation on toe fracture

Bad news for Albert Celades. Maxi Gomez had to leave at half-time in the match against Real Betis and the club confirmed this Sunday that will he will have to be operated on his toe. 

After medical tests, the official statement points out that "he has a fracture in his fifth metasarsal in his left foot," what confirms what 'Cadena SER' was reporting in the last few hours. 

Valencia will be without their main striker for several weeks. The Uruguayan has scored 10 goals in the current season, a life saver on many occasions for a team who struggle especially in attack. 

After this injury, Kevin Gameiro is the only one of the three strikers who Albert Celades, since Rodrigo has still not recovered from his knee injury.
