Patrick Dorgu is a new Manchester United player. The 20-year-old defender landed in England on Sunday to put pent to a five-year contract after the Red Devils reached an agreement with Lecce for a deal worth €35million in total - €30million fixed fee plus €5million in bonuses.
"Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Patrick Dorgu has joined the club, subject to visa and registration.," reads a statement from the Premier League side.
The Denmark international is United's second signing in this January transfer window and also the second new signing for Ruben Amorim since his appointment in November. Having seen Dorgu's impressive performances in Serie A, the club believe that he will suit Amorim's tactics.
The former Sporting Lisbon boss has been struggling to implement his ideas to the players, who have been used to playing under Erik ten Hag's tactics throughout the past two seasons. But Dorgu's experience playing in the right-wingback position should allow him to get up to terms with Amorim's preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
