Leo Messi is leaving PSG. After many days of speculation about the Argentinian's departure and the different destinations he could go to, the first thing that had to happen is that the former Barca player will no longer be part of the Parc des Princes side's squad.
Galtier's team announced the departure of the Qatar World Cup winner in a tweet in which they thanked the Argentina international for his services during the last two seasons.
The French club also issued a statement on their official website in which they published a video compilation of the Argentine's best moments during his time in Paris.
The former Barcelona player also said a brief farewell to the club and their fans: "I would like to thank the club, the city of Paris and its people for these two years. I wish you all the best for the future.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi did not want to miss the opportunity to say goodbye to the '30' either: "I would like to thank Leo Messi for his two seasons in Paris. To see a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in the Rouge & Bleu and at Parc des Princes, winning back-to-back Ligue 1 titles and inspiring our younger players has been a pleasure." said the Chairman and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain. "His contribution to Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 cannot be understated and we wish Leo and his family all the best for the future.
