Renato Veiga has officially completed his move to become a new Juventus player. The 'Bianconeri' concluded the deal for the Portuguese defender once an agreement was reached with Chelsea over a dry loan worth around €5 million until the end of the season - June 2025.
"Juventus are delighted to welcome Portuguese defender Renato Veiga, who will join the Club on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2024/25 season," reads a statement from the Italian side.
Having struggled for game time under Enzo Maresca, the Sporting Lisbon youth product had expressed his wish to find minutes on the pitch elsewhere. However, it is understood that only temporary options were explored as the player sees a long-term future with the Blues. Borussia Dortmund were initially in the race for the centre-back, but the 34-time Scudetto winners landed him in the end.
Veiga becomes Juventus' third arrival in this January transfer window after the signings of Alberto Costa on a permanent basis and Kolo Muani on loan from PSG. With the deal expiring in June 2025, the 21-year-old will return to the west London side before the start of the Club World Cup in July.
