OFFICIAL: Haaland signs nine-year-and-a-half year Man City contract

Erling Haaland have renewed with Manchester City until 2034. It sounds crazy to say in 2025, but the English side have agreed a nine-and-a-half-year deal with the Norwegian striker, as the Sky Blues have announced through an official statement.

Haaland's current contract with the Sky Blues expired in 2027, but he has now improved both the length of his deal and the salary he will earn during one of the longest contracts in history.

Although the figures for the new contract have not been released, 'The Athletic' journalist David Ornstein claims that Haaland's contract will be one of the most lucrative in the history of football. This news comes, moreover, without yet knowing whether Manchester City will be sanctioned for the 115 charges it faces for violating the rules of ‘Financial Fair Play’ in the Premier League and which could see the club relegated.

The Norwegian joined Manchester City in the summer of 2020 after the English side paid Borussia Dortmund 60 million euros. Since then, the striker has continued to score goals and become one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best.

Haaland has scored an impressive 111 goals in 126 appearances for the British side and has won two Premier League titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup and one European Super Cup.

In this way, both the club and the player want to put an end to all the rumours about a possible move to Real Madrid or Barcelona, two of the clubs to which he has been linked in recent years.
