Al Gharafa officially confirmed on Sunday the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who arrives as a free agent after playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
Rico, 31, who previously played for Sevilla and Fulham, had been inactive for a year after an accident with a horse in El Rocio that left him in an induced coma for 26 days and hospitalized for three months.
Winner of 2 Europa League titles with Sevilla and 2 Ligue 1, 2 French Cups, a League Cup and a Super Cup with PSG, he was capped once, in a friendly against South Korea on June 1st, 2016 in which he replaced Iker Casillas after 73 minutes.
In his new team, he will play alongside fellow Spaniards Joselu Mato and Rodrigo Moreno.
