Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign coveted Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney.

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of midfielder Thomas Delaney from Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee.

The Denmark international has established a reputation as one of the Bundesliga's best defensive midfielders since joining Bremen from Copenhagen in his homeland last summer.

A host of Premier League sides were linked with a swoop for the 26-year-old, but it is Lucien Favre's side who have emerged victorious in the battle to sign him.

Delaney has signed a deal through until 2022.

The midfielder made 36 appearances for Bremen in all competitions last season, scocring three times and laying on a further six.
