OFFICIAL: City complete all aspects of Haaland deal

Erling Haaland is now officially a Manchester City player. The club from the Etihad Stadium have kicked off their week in the best way possible by announcing the signing of one of the best strikers in the world currently. They have now fully completed the initial agreement they made with Borussia Dortmund a month ago.

City welcomed the player into the club by releasing an official video showing the Norwegian when he was younger, dressed in a Sky Blue strip, and recreating the image in today's day.

Via an official statement by the club, City explained that he will start his contract on 1st July, and he will remain at the Etihad for the next five seasons until 30th June 2027.

On 10th May, City put the hammer down on the deal for Haaland. The English outfit had won the race to sign the Norwegian ahead of some of Europe's biggest clubs. The ex Dortmund man wanted to return to his roots and follow in the footsteps of his father and so, he decided on the Premier League champions.

City triggered the Norwegian's 60 million euro release in order to give Pep Guardiola a new number 9. In terms of his salary, Haaland will be paid the same amount as Kevin De Bruyne, currently the highest paid player in the squad.

You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me. There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions", said Haaland to City's official media.

On Haaland's signing, City's director of football, Txiki Begiristain, revealed: "We have been monitoring Erling for several years now, so we are delighted to bring him here to Manchester City. He is a huge talent and has been one of the best strikers in Europe over the last few seasons".

“Erling has everything we want in a striker and we are certain he will excel in this squad and this system. This is a very exciting signing for our club, and I am sure our fans will enjoy watching Erling perform in this team", he concluded.
