OFFICIAL: Betis sell Bartra to Trabzonspor

Marc Bartra is a new Trabzonspor player. One of the most unexpected operations of the transfer market has been completed. Betis needed to sell in order to register their players and chose the Spanish defender, who was very important to Manuel Pellegrini, to leave the project for this new season. He signs until 2025.

The Turkish side confirmed on their formal channels his landing. The Ottoman press has quoted a figure of 1.25 million euros. To this amount, we must add that the Spanish  team will get rid of the player's salary, so that they will gain the financial leeway to complete their squad for 2022-23. On the downside, they lose a player who has been important to them.

Last season, he made 32 appearances, all of them as a starter. He was one of Betis' big signings, who signed him from Borussia Dortmund, his destination after leaving Barcelona. He returned to La Liga as a much more experienced player and that earned him a place in the the starting eleven.

Now, he faces a new journey in a league in which he has never played, the Turkish league, and to which he arrives with many options to fight, immediately, for a place as a starter. While he plays his first matches so far away, Betis will try to manage well the financial leeway they have obtained to register their players.
