The soap opera of the winter transfer window is finally over. Gabon striker Aubameyang is a new Barcelona player. Although the transfer window ended on 31st January, it was only made official today.
Auba is Barca's third signing up front, after Ferran Torres and Adama Traore. Xavi Hernandez will have a guaranteed striker at his disposal and hopes to get the best out of him.
The Gabonese arrives on a free transfer from Arsenal, as Arteta did not count on him. Mateu Alemany, Barca's sporting director, has done a great job in signing him on a free transfer.
The player will sign a contract until 30th June 2025 with an option to agree departure on 30th June 2023 and his buyout clause will be set at 100 million euros.
The 32-year-old hopes to continue at the level seen at Borussia Dortmund and his early years in London. However, Barca have a problem, they can only sign three of their four winter signings, and it looks like Dani Alves will not be able to play in the Europa League.

His time in London
The Gabon striker joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for a fee of around €60 million and in his first full season with the club in 2018-2019, he won the Golden Boot.
His best moment as a Gunner came the following season, when he played a key role in the team, already managed by Mikel Arteta, winning the FA Cup against Chelsea with a goal of his own.
Auba has worn the captain's armband for the past two-and-a-half seasons, making a total of 162 appearances, scoring 92 goals in all.
Arsenal confirmed on Tuesday the mutually agreed release of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. "We wish Auba all the best in the next chapter of his career and thank him for his contribution to the club," Arsenal said in a statement.
