Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has completed his transfer to Saudi Professional League side Al-Nassr for €77m including add-ons, making him one of the most expensive signings of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old Colombian international, who joined Villa for the 2022/23 season from Chicago Fire, leaves after an impressive spell in the Premier League.
Duran's signing comes as a surprise to many considering he had recently signed a contract extension with Villa until 2030 on 7 October 2024.
The young striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Unai Emery's side.
The substantial fee received for Duran is expected to provide Villa with significant funds to reinvest in the squad.
Duran will join Al-Nassr, where he will team up with global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, potentially forming a formidable attacking partnership in the Saudi Pro League.
