The Sinaloa-based side were delighted to reach the quarter-finals of the Mexican Cup and although handed a tough tie against top-tier Querétao, the fact that the game was a one-legged affair gave them hope of springing an upset.
However, things soon got even more difficult for the Argentine legend as his side went behind to Camilo Sanvezze's impressive free-kick with just eight minutes gone.
There was more to come from the Brazilian, though, as he reapeated the feat nine minutes later, finding the net from another set-piece.
This time, a Dorados player did his best to prevent the goal, breaking from the wall to try to cover the post in true FIFA fashion. It is not know whether he did so on a whim or due to instructions from Maradona, but either way it didn't work as Sanvezze's effort sailed over his head and into the top corner.
Dorados did get a goal back, but they were ultimately unable to turn the game on its head.
