West Ham are amdamant in their €12 million valuation for the midfielder, whereas as the Italian side value him at just €10 million.
Sampdoria are keen on the signing but are hoping that the 'Irons' will lower their asking price as the end of the English transfer window gets nearer. However, according to 'Gazzertta dello Sport' the Premier League side will not lower their estimation for the player.
The Spanish midfielder has eyed a return to the team with which he started his career for some time, and West Ham are happy to let him go with the arrival of Jack Wilshere in midfield, but the financial situation is proving a big obstacle in the deal going through.
Obiang has made almost 90 apperances for the east London side, including 21 in the league last campaign, but could look to force through his move in order to get more regular game time in Serie A.
